Westport Continuing Education presents an ambitious roster of college and career-ready summer programs for high school students. As a division of Westport Public Schools, we share the mission to empower and inspire students to reach their full potential as lifelong learners and socially responsible contributors to our global community. We achieve this by fostering critical and creative thinking and collaborative problem solving. 

A Historical Journey through Science and Social Justice [entering 10-12]
This course is focused on addressing historically controversial topics from a scientific viewpoint, where science and history come together to address social justice topics.

Gear Up for Algebra 1 [entering 8]
Monday - Thursday: BMS & Fridays Online
This is a four week course that reviews some of the most important prerequisite math topics from seventh grade to provide students a solid foundation for a class as fundamental as Algebra 1.

Gear Up for Algebra 2 [entering 9-11]
Revisit the most important Algebra skills to get ready for Algebra 2! Devote just a few hours a day for ONE week of your summer working with a Staples High School teacher who has taught Algebra 1 and 2 for many years.

Gear Up for AP Calculus [entering 11-12]
Gearing Up for AP Calculus is a two week course that synthesizes some of the most important prerequisite math topics from Algebra1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus.

Gear Up for AP Social Studies [entering 10-12]
Join an experienced AP teacher to practice reading and writing skills for Advanced Placement Social Studies courses: World History, European History, U.S. History, Politics and Government, and Economics.

Gear Up for Science Olympiad [entering 6-9]
This summer experience will help get you ready for the fall, when Science Olympiad releases new rules and teams tackle the 23 STEM-aligned events in pairs; building devices for on-site testing, studying for core knowledge challenges, and preparing for rigorous hands-on lab experiments.
