Westport Summer School: Courses for Credit  

Summer courses allow students to accelerate within a course sequence, satisfy credit requirements in order to free up their schedule during the school year for other courses, or make up credit lost due to failure or poor attendance. Each one-credit course covers the same material as a full-year course, condensed into a 6 week program. The .5 credit courses and .25 courses are condensed into a 3 week program. Please see the Staples Program of Studies for more information.

Staples High School students seeking to enroll in a for-credit summer course must obtain prior written approval from: 1)the subject area department coordinator and 2)their school counselor. Students outside of Westport Public Schools should obtain the equivalent of the above.

Instructions and Application to Register
Students must obtain prior signature and written approval from 1) the curriculum coordinator and 2) their school counselor. 

1) Kindly sign up your child on our website for the selected class. A position is not guaranteed until the completed application and payment are received. You will receive a confirmation email once your full application is received.

2) Make sure to sign and initial the appropriate spots on the high school credit application (PDF attached). Please fill it out completely. - Please make sure your student's grade level is correct.

3) When the office receives your completed application, the WCE Financial Coordinator will get in touch with you to arrange a credit card payment.

Please note: All payments are final - there is no refund.

1 Credit Classes: Chemistry A, Geometry A = $1,650.00

.5 Credit Classes: U.S. Government, Personal Financial Management, Introduction to Programming = $1,050.00

.25 Credit Class: Physical Education = $550.00
