Valerie graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in Illustration and the New York Academy of Art with a MFA in Figurative Fine Art. Upon graduation she freelanced as an illustrator and worked for several Manhattan ad agencies as a graphic designer and art director. She has a passion for teaching art, fitness, Zumba, and dance. She’s also certified in Zumba through the Zumba Instructor Network and Kids Yoga through NETA Yoga Kids. She’s taught at the Westport Art Center (now MoCA Westport), Wilton Continuing Education, Darien Art Center, and the Wilton YMCA. Valerie believes that art is not only about technical skill but about discovering a new way to see the world. She enjoys teaching art classes and motivating students of all ages to learn and grow through art!
