What would happen if a bunch of your kids' favorite teachers got together and decided to put on a summer camp? You'd get something like Westport Continuing Education's Discovery Camp at Greens Farms Elementary School, for children entering grades K-5. With morning, afternoon, and full-day options, Discovery Camp is an action-packed, highly enriched, and flexible alternative to regular old day camp. Activities counselors are all certified teachers. Mornings (8:30 am - 12:30 pm) include an ever-changing schedule of everyone's favorite summer camp activities: arts & crafts, games, sports, and all kinds of outdoor fun. But we made your children's summer smarter, with a sprinkling of literacy, math, and science. They won't notice how much they're learning. All they'll notice is how much fun they're having. Lunch Bunch is included in our morning camp - just pack a peanut-free lunch and some healthy snacks, and we'll take care of wiping sticky fingers and sweet-talking picky eaters. Check out some of our super duper summerlicious activities: Creative Campers Mathletics & Science Explorers Kids 'n Play In the afternoons (12:30-2:30 pm or 3:15 pm), kids can concentrate on the activity or hobby they like best, by signing up for any of our à la carte menu of program options for actors and artists, filmmakers, cooks, computer geeks, engineers, and inventors. Our full-day campers will be delivered, bellies full and sticky fingers wiped, to the afternoon kick-off, and...off they'll all go. If your camper is joining us for the afternoon only, we'll make sure they feel welcome and that they find friends.
Kids are curious by nature and allowing them to explore and discover new things every day is our camp mission. Creative Campers activities will inspire your child to think and to create. They'll invent, imagine, question, and dream, through arts and crafts, stories, games, and exploration of all kinds.
Discover, invent, build, grow, experiment, count, measure—bet you didn't know that math and science could be so fun. Our Mathletics & Science Explorers activities will give kids a chance to participate in hands-on, inquiry-based activities designed to exercise their brains and pique their curiosity.
We believe in letting kids be kids and in the importance of running around, gettin' sweaty, and havin' a good time. So we'll let ‘em loose on our playground and our fields (and in our gym when it rains). We'll mobilize them, energize them, organize them, and supervise them. Your pint-sized camper is guaranteed to have some out-sized fun. (Too much?—can you really have too much fun with words or movement? We think not.)
