Description

Have you ever wondered why an octopus can change color and texture in the blink of an eye? Or why only certain animals have shells? How can bats find insects in complete darkness, and why are cheetahs so fast?

 

This after-school program will answer all of those questions and more as we explore the incredible world of animal adaptations! Each week, we'll discover a different group of animals and uncover the amazing adaptations that help them survive in their environments.

 

Through live animal encounters, hands-on activities, games, crafts, and up-close investigations with real specimens, students will become nature detectives, learning to ask one of biology’s most important questions: Why is this animal built this way?

 

Together, we'll explore the story of life on Earth, discovering how animals evolved solutions to the challenges of living in water, on land, and in the air. By the end of the program, students will have a new appreciation for the incredible diversity of life, and will even discover some special adaptations that make humans unique.

 

Please pack water and a nut-free snack for your child.
