TEEN MUSICAL THEATER * PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP (Entering Gr. 5-8): An
exciting, fun-filled theater arts workshop! Performers will develop
their acting, singing, dancing, improvisation, set design, and makeup
skills to star in performances at the end of the session. Each performer
will solo in the performance. The summer is filled with team spirit,
laughter, and working together on stage and back-stage! Bring lunch.

SUMMER THEATER CAMP
(Entering Gr. 5-9):
Join us for an unforgettable 5-week theatre experience. We will be
creating a new version of the classic Cinderella story with the
words & music of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Steven Sondheim, Gilbert &
Sullivan, to name a few. (It’s will be more like “Enchanted” meets
Roald Dahl, Fractured Fairytales and American Idol.) Work on your
acting, singing, and dancing skills, as well as help with set design,
decoration, props and costume construction. There will be a variety of
male and female roles. If you prefer being behind the scenes, there are
a limited number of openings for technical theatre training. Camp
Directors: Karen McCormick, Drama Teacher & Lynne Karmen, Art Teacher
at Bedford Middle School. Senior staff includes highly talented Staples
graduates aided by current Staples students. Bring or buy lunch.

Get involved in
the exciting world of stage design by creating the “Cinderella”
sets for the Westport Summer Theater Camp. You will create miniature
3-dimensional models of your ideas, design, build and paint the scenery,

INTRODUCTION TO A
SCHOOL TV STUDIO (Entering Gr. 4-6, 5-8):
Learn how the “morning
news” is created through ‘hands-on’ activities associated with live
video communication and news production. You will learn basic camera use
and video editing as it applies to the creation of short news programs.
The studio component of the course will introduce pre-production
planning, production, and post-production of video for use in live
television shows. Techniques include concept development, interviewing,
camera work, microphone use, and sound recording. (Instructor, Karen

The summer production will be the Music Theatre International school
edition of “Les Misérables.”
Casting will call for a variety of male and female roles. Everyone
registered will be used in the production. Auditions will be in the
first week of June. Performances on August 7, 8, 9, 10. Email Producer
