CREATIVE ARTS - ELEMENTARY 

ART FOR KIDS (Entering Gr.1-3):  Explore and experiment with a variety of art media and techniques in a warm and nurturing environment. The program includes stories to inspire the young artists as they venture into fantasy,  scientific, realistic, and multicultural themes. Projects include painting with watercolors and tempera, sketching, printing, collage, ceramics, paper mache, and kid invented media. The emphasis will be on the process of creating unique works of art. (Instructor, Arianna Sloat)

MULTIMEDIA ART (Gr. 1-3) ~ Create two and three dimensional constructions using a variety of media such as paper, paint, and clay. Learn how to think through the design and composition of your project and how to use color and materials to bring your ideas to life! (Instructor, Arianna Sloat)

AUGUST ART (Entering Gr. 1-3): Hey kids! Try out your own imaginative ideas as you experience different techniques and media. You’ll enjoy doing different projects such as clay sculpture, painting, printmaking and collage. Join us for a lot of fun!   (Instructor, Linda Berg)

FUN WITH ART (Gr. 3-5) ~ Create your own colorful works of art and sculpture using pastels, paint, clay, paper mache, and recyclables. Learn techniques, explore different media, express yourself through art, and have fun!  Please bring an old shirt or smock. JEWELRY DESIGN AND FUN WITH ART (Gr. 3-5) ~ Enjoy this combination class where we will enjoy the activities described above under FUN WITH ART and also learn the fun and exciting art of jewelry design from basic bead stringing to simple loops and wire wrapping.  Utilize various materials and create your own unique necklaces, bracelets and even decorative bookmarks.  (Instructor, Staff)

YOUNG POTTERS (Entering Gr. 3-5): Enjoy both hand building and wheel work with clay!  We will be using a variety of hand techniques and enjoy an introduction to “throwing” on the potter’s wheel. DRAWING AND DESIGN (Entering Gr. 5-12):  Refine your drawing skills by learning perspective and shading techniques.  You’ll enjoy different projects such as still life and figure drawing, printmaking, painting, and collage.  We will study various artists and experiment with different materials like paint, cut paper, charcoal and pastels. CreativeArt Ink Summer Full Day Program (Entering Gr. 3-5, 6-8, 9-11)
Join Filmmakers Ink as they team up with CreativeArt Ink for a full day experience with working artists, filmmakers, dancers and actors. Spend the day making movies with award-winning filmmakers; create animation and sketch with professional artists; write a short story or poem with a Pulitzer Prize nominee; improvise with actors currently working Off-Broadway; and explore movement and physical theater with a choreographer direct from the 92^nd Street Y.  Combine that with fresh air and outdoor fun each day and you’ll have a summer program that will thrill!  Campers must bring their own lunch and healthy snacks.
